Museum Mondays - The Larry Ostresh Collection

We are starting a new series of museum posts that will come out on most mondays showing items from the collections that have been recently digitized. To start us off, here are a couple of photos of the Wyoming Colorado Railroad - using the old Laramie Hahns Peak trackage - between Laramie and Centennial. These were taken by Lawrence “Larry” Ostresh. He was a very active depot board member and advocate for railroad history before passing away in 2013. He left a collection of photographs and slides taken in and around the Laramie area which will be the focus of our posts this summer.

Wyoming & Colorado EMD FP7 1510 stops in Centennial before crossing HWY-130 on its westbound route.

A westbound Wyoming & Colorado excursion train crosses the plains that separate Laramie from Centennial with the beautiful Snowy Range in the background. This track-bed with unmistakable orange fencing is still visible today as you drive HWY-130.

A Westbound Wyoming and Colorado weaves its way out of Centennial across HWY-130.
