Snowblower to the rescue!

Just like WyDOT has been struggling to keep I-80 open due to drifting in the red desert, the Union Pacific railroad is facing major challenges from wind drifts along the transcontinental railroad. While usually the weight of locomotives and their plows is enough to keep the rails clear, lower well cars used to carry containers across the country are getting high centered in heavy snow. To resolve the issue the Union Pacific has sent out one of its rotary snowplows and support crews from Cheyenne. Here it is westbound crossing the Laramie river yesterday.
